Oven Baked Crispy French Fries

These French fries are incredibly easy to make and seriously delicious. They’ve quickly become a staple in our kitchen so much so that I’m now getting requests to make them at least twice a week (sometimes more!). Golden, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and totally customizable with your favorite seasonings, these fries are a simple comfort food that never disappoints.

Helpful Tips for Perfect French Fries:

  • Soak the potatoes:
Soak cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. You can soak them longer, up to an hour or more, and they still turn out amazing.
  • Dry them thoroughly:
After soaking, make sure to drain and dry the potatoes completely. This helps them crisp up evenly and reduces splatter if frying.
  • Cut to your preference:
You can cut the potatoes to any thickness you like. Just keep in mind that thicker fries may need more time to cook, while thinner ones will cook faster and get crispier.
  • Season your way:
Use any seasoning you like! Classic salt, garlic powder, paprika, salt and vinegar, seasoning salt. Make them your own.

Enjoy your oven baked crispy French fries. You will not be disappointed.

Oven Baked Crispy French Fries

These are so easy to make and are so delicious. Not only are they allergy free but they only have 3 ingredients. My kids will regularly ask me for these, and they can be picky.
Prep Time 35 minutes
Cook Time 40 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 large Russet potatoes
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive OIl
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly oil it.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut in thin fries about 1/4 inch thick or you can make them any size you want.
  3. Soak the fries in cold water for around 30 minutes but can be soaked for longer. This will remove excess starch and make them more crispy
  4. Dry the fries thoroughly and toss them in olive oil and salt or if you have any other seasonings you would like to put on them.
  5. Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet. Avoid crowding or overlapping
  6. Bake for 20 minutes. Flip the fries and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

To reheat them toss them on parchment paper in the oven for 5-10 minutes to crisp them back up.  Make sure to watch them so they don’t burn.
